Honourable mention for Dinamica at the 2018 Italian Design Awards: Dinamica has now its own place in the history of Italian Design

Fratelli Garletti’s Dinamica is the technologically revolutionary door hinge that conquered the appreciation of the Compasso D’Oro ADI Award international jury.

Established in 1954 in Milan, the Compasso D’Oro ADI award is a biennial prize now in its 25th edition: with over sixty years of history, it has become the most coveted industrial design award, the top award to any project, product, research and merit. A sort of Nobel Prize for Design.

The international jury of the Compasso D’Oro award, composed of 5 members chosen and appointed by the ADI Executive Committee among qualified scholars and design experts, awarded 16 Compasso D’Oro Awards and 56 honourable mentions for the 2018 prize.

“We are very honored to receive this great recognition; starting from today we can consider ourselves fully-fledged Ambassadors of the Made in Italy” said Stefano Garletti in glowing excitement, CEO of F.lli Garletti, a Brescia-based company now in its third generation, specializing in blanking dies, blanking of sheet metal items and high-tech manufacturing.

The 2018 Edition of the Award evaluated 480 products selected by ADI Design Index, the annual publication of ADI Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (Industrial Design Association), over a period of time between 2016 and 2017, among the two thousand candidate products.

Besides Fratelli Garletti, among the winners are other well-known names of the Made In Italy, such as Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, iGuzzini.

The SHS Dinamica system encloses many technological innovations covered by 5 international patents – designed by Luciano Bacchetti – which turn the classic door hinge into an all-out technological system capable of performing and assuring exclusive performance.

The awarding was held Wednesday, June 20th at Cortile della Rocchetta, Castello Sforzesco, in Milan, in the presence of President of Lombardy Attilio Fontana, President of Confindustria Lombardy Marco Bonometti and of the ADI President Luciano Galimberti.

The items that received the Compasso D’Oro Award and the honourable mention will become part of the Collezione Compasso d’Oro ADI (Compasso D’Oro ADI Collection), which, on April 22nd 2004, was labelled by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as a collection of “outstanding artistic and historical interest”.
